The ASLAP Foundation
The ASLAP Foundation provides awards and scholarships to veterinary students who have demonstrated an interest in the practice of laboratory animal medicine. The ASLAP Foundation is incorporated in the State of Illinois as an 501(c)3 charitable organization. Donations to the Foundation are deductible as charitable donations under IRS rules.
The Foundation was established with the generous support of Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline and ASLAP Board of Directors. The short term goal of the Foundation is to fund an award at each veterinary school and to raise enough money as soon as possible to make our long term goal a reality. Our long term goal is to reinstitute a summer fellowship program similar to one previously managed by the AALAS Foundation. These fellowships will require an institutional match and will provide fellowship support for veterinary students in summer training programs.The ASLAP Foundation seeks 100% participation of the ASLAP membership with a minimum donation of $10.00. Our dream is to have 100% participation of the membership with the majority contributing more that the minimum. We hope that as a member of ASLAP you will make the Foundation a part of your annual giving plan. The future of our practice specialty is dependent upon attracting more veterinary students to the field and the Foundation's focused outreach effort to veterinary students gives ASLAP and its membership the opportunity to contribute to the long term success of our specialty.
Your donation to the ASLAP Foundation will directly benefit students who are interested in pursuing laboratory animal medicine as a career. Investing in their future will assure the future of our specialty and allow us all to rest assured that what we have built will continue in the future and be in good hands; hands belonging to laboratory animal veterinarians who were helped along as students by the ASLAP Foundation.
