Overview of the program | Under the CDC Student Work Experience Program (SWEP), the Comparative Medicine Branch (CMB) externship (preceptorship) program provides the veterinary student with hands-on lab animal medicine experience within a biomedical research setting. The extern will perform all duties of a clinical veterinarian under the supervision of the senior clinical veterinarians and veterinary residents. |
Other comments | This is a non-salaried position not to exceed four weeks. Interested students may contact Kristin Mayfield to lock-in available dates. All required paperwork must be filled out, signed, and submitted to the CMB contact person at least 6 weeks before the externship is due to begin. |
