U.S. Certificate Program in Laboratory Animal Medicine

Applications are currently being accepted for enrollment in the U.S. Certificate Program in Laboratory Animal Medicine. This academic program of study provides continuing education and applied training for licensed U.S. veterinarians working in the field of Laboratory Animal Medicine. The certificate consists of four courses totaling 160 hours of study. An online theory course and three applied courses, consisting of one-week placements at regional training centers, must be completed to obtain the certificate. The program is particularly appropriate for veterinarians who are working part-time/consulting in this field, who are working at a location distant to a recognized training program, or who are working in the field but cannot return to university for full-time graduate studies or a residency in this specialty. Limited tuition support may be available from ACLAM and APV, please contact course coordinator, Dr. Lesley Colby (lacolby@uw.edu), for details.

Additional information can be found at: http://www.lam.open.uoguelph.ca/. This program has been endorsed by the American Society for Laboratory Animal Practitioners.
