2021 Charles River Prize for Laboratory Animal Science

Charles River is pleased to announce that nominations are now being accepted for the 44th annual Charles River Prize. This award will be presented in Kansas City, at the 72nd American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) National Meeting, October 17-21, 2021.

The 2021 Charles River Medallion for Laboratory Animal Management

Charles River is pleased to announce that nominations are now being accepted for the 31st annual Charles River Medallion. The award will be presented during the 2021 Laboratory Animal Management Association annual meeting in Clearwater Beach, FL April 19-22, 2021. The Charles River Medallion, consisting of an inscribed plaque with medallion and a check, will be given in “recognition of distinguished contributions to the field of laboratory animal management by an administrator/manager who is a member of the National Laboratory Animal Management Association (LAMA) and is currently engaged in Laboratory Animal Management.”

Virtual Health and Colony Management of Laboratory Fish

In light of Covid-19, the MDI Biological Laboratory has revised our Health and Colony Management of Laboratory Fish course to a virtual symposium! This two-day online symposium aims to be a platform for the research community to discuss aquatic animal facility challenges that have arisen during the coronavirus pandemic, and provide an opportunity for participants to share and learn about potential solutions.

2020 Charles River Shortcourse Scholarship

MUSC Swine Course 2020

The advanced training course (lectures + labs) using swine will be conducted at the Medical University of SC, Monday to Wednesday, February 10-12, 2020. The course is applicable to veterinarians, technicians and investigators using porcine models. Registration is limited and the course can be personalized for attendees. For more detailed information email: swinetech@hotmail.com. Registration forms and the course outline will be sent upon request to your business email. The course at MUSC is only held annually in February and early registration is encouraged. Individualized courses can be taught at your institution upon request (swinetech@hotmail.com for quote and availability).
